網路與多媒體由於與人類生活關係密切在計算人本化及資訊媒體化的大趨勢下已成為電腦通訊民生電子及內容等所 謂4C產業的核心在國家經濟發展產業競爭力及高級人才培育上均有其發展之迫切性而本校資訊工程系早在1991年元月便由吳家麟黃肇雄陳文進三 位教授共同創立通訊與多媒體實驗室從事網路與多媒體領域的教學與研究其後陸續加入歐陽明教授及周承復教授等生力軍十多年來不但為國內資訊電機 業界培育了超過200名的碩博士人才更為資工系爭取了超過新台幣一億三仟多萬的研究經費由於該實驗室研究成果豐碩除上述產學計畫外也應電信工程 學研究所的邀請參與了教育部2000-2003大學學術追求卓越發展計畫前瞻性電信科技發展計畫以及2002年研究型大學整合計畫中之資訊 電子科技整合研究中心因此當資工系在學術研發及系務發展需求之考量下擬籌設新設單位時網路與多媒體自然成為最優先的選擇PARSED CONTENT
